In times of a pandemic and remote classes, having access to the internet


is essential for children and adolescents to be able to attend online
classes and access other internet content that guarantee continuity of
learning.

• Online learning is one of the fastest growing education models in the world.
After all, the internet has definitely changed the way we live! Much of what
used to be done in person is now perfectly done remotely. Home office
work and distance learning are two examples that illustrate this new reality
well.

• The most likely answer is yes.As it is one of the great attractions of


human communication, the Internet is configured as a strong ally in
the teaching and learning of reading and writing, since, through it, it is
possible to contact a wide range of information, linked by the most
genres of text.

• The number of freshmen in distance learning courses, the EAD,


surpassed the number of on-site courses in Brazil in 2019. There were
more than 1.4 million students in the EAD, 52% of the total, according
to a projection of the educational consultancy Atmã Educar. In 2013,
this share was 22%. The expansion of this type of education has
changed the strategies of large private universities.
