Also majority of people perform transactions on Saturday due to it is an off day for most companies. • 11-1 is having a peak, as most of the customers have lunch hours during 12-1:30. • From 4-5 also there is a peak as they may visit the bank at EOD to finish the daily transaction. Main Branch • For Main branch, 11-1 is a peak time during the lunch breaks. • Also 9-10 slot has quite number of customers visiting, assuming the housewives and people WFH visit to avoid, peak timings. • Slot 4-5 is also a peak as the customers visit the bank at EOD to finish the daily business transactions. Branch 1
• The average customer visits are 27, which is
48% lower than the average customer visits at Main branch. • Majority of people tend to visit during lunch hour and towards the end of bank’s operation hour (4:00 PM to 5:00 PM). • Regardless, skillful and well-experienced workers are also much needed at this branch to operate smoothly. Branch 2
• The number of customers increases drastically
from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM mostly for Friday and Saturday. • The median number of customers is 24 persons visit the branch in an hour. • Skillful and well-experienced workers are much recommended to be stationed at the counters, in order to shorten the waiting line and transaction time per customer. Branch 3 • The peak hours start from 10:00 AM to 1:00 AM and restart to increase again at 4:00 PM until closing. • We can presume that quite a number of people go to the bank at the last hour of operations (from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM) are those who just finish their early morning or midnight shifts. • The vast majority of customers visit the branch on Saturday as it is an off day for those, who work at the office. We can postulate that those, who visit on Saturday have delayed their necessity to go to the bank since any working days due to being occupied with work at the office. Hypothesis Testing
• Is the Main branch having a higher volume of customers
compared to other branches?
• μMB=population of customer visits at Main Branch
from each other, we, therefore, conducted a t-Test: Two Samples Assuming Unequal Variables. • The value of t Stat is 16.89, which is higher than the value of t critical one-tail, 1.65. • The P one-tail value is smaller than alpha (0.05). • We have to support the alternative, that the Main Branch is busier than the other three branches. Conclusion and Recommendation • It can be concluded that Bank is having similar trends for all of its branches. • It is imperative to understand that each transaction made is equal to the income for the bank. Losing customers due to long waiting line means losing income and revenue. • The branch managers can look into the figures and trends in planning and scheduling their workers accordingly. This approach absolutely will help in controlling the labor cost and other operating costs. • The avenues that can be used are opening more counters and stationing skilled and well- experienced workers at critical hours of operation. • Consequently, Bank can reduce its dependency on human intervention at the branch, which later, at the same time, reduces the labor cost. • Finally yet importantly, the bank is also suggested to deploy branch managers with great leadership and management skills to run the operation smoothly and with minimum supervision. Thank You!
