Religion

In Arabic and Urdu Mazhab is used


for the same meaning for which
Religion is used.the word Mazhab
has been derived from the arabic
roots (‫)ذ ه ب‬which means to go, so
Mazhab literally means a passage.
Definition
Many scholars have defined the Mazhab in
different ways, the working definition is:
(To believe in supernatural beings and act
according to their will.)

Basic elements of a Religion:
 Beliefs. compulsory in any religion of the
world. It is like roots for a tree. With out it
there is no possibility for mazhab.
 Practices /customs. It is compulsory for
the perfection and completion of a religion.
Although Mazhab exists with out it.
 Ethics: they are in every religion either
subjective and objective.
Kinds of Religion
1. Revealed: they are based on two things:
1. Revelation
2. Instructions by the prophets
2. Non-revealed: they are based on the following:
1. Experience
2. Meditation
3. Intuition
4. Superstition
5. fear
Need for a Religion
 Accomplishment of natural desires and
needs.
 To know the purpose of creation.(the
destination.)
 To know the way of life.(how to practice
to reach to the destination.)
Impacts of a Religion
 Creation of good morality.
 Duties and rights are balanced.
 Duties and rights are interlinked.
 Duties of students are the rights of teachers.

 Duties of doctors are the rights of patients.

 The fear of death and dangers is Finished or


minimized
 It is mostly in revealed religions.
 Difficulties are tests.

 A time has been ordained for departure.


Different concepts about the
inception of Religion:

 From darkness to lights: it is called irtiqai


concept. It is non revealed concept.
 through the Prophets: which start from
Adam alaihissalam. It is revealed
concept.
