Introduction
Learning is a continuous process. For teachers in the academe, research is one way of learning and
professional development. Research has a great importance on teachers on different aspect. It develops
teachers on different skills necessary for addressing various problems of the systematically. It is also a way of
self evaluation of teachers on their teaching practices. It allows teachers to decide on improving their
teaching practices that creates effective and positive impact on learners. lastly, research is a great way of
teachers lifelong learning and professional development. (Ulla, 2018)

This study aims find the relationship between teachers challenges, difficulties and
motivation towards research culture as basis for faculty enhancement program.
Specifically, it seeks to answer the following questions:
1. What are the challenges of teachers towards research?
2. What are the difficulties of teachers in doing research?
3. What are the teachers motivation for them to embrace research culture?
4. What is the relationship of teachers challenges, difficulties and motivation towards
research culture?
5. What faculty enhancement program should be given for the teachers?
