Today I will talk about translation equivalent and transposition
TRANSLATION EQUIVALENT
An expression from a LANGUAGE which has the same meaning as, or can be used in a
similar context to, one from another language, and can therefore be used to translate it:
for example, English I don't understand, French Je ne comprends pas, Italian Non
capisco, Modern Greek Dhen katalaveno, Japanese Wakarimasen.
TRANSPOSITION

This is the process in which parts of speech change their sequence when
translated. Transposition is often used between English and Spanish due to
the verb's preferred position in the sentence: English often has the verb near
the beginning of a sentence; The Spanish may have it closer to the end.
EXAMPLE
“El carro rojo” literally is “the car red” as opposed to the
correct translation “the red car”
