THE COLPATRIA TOWER

This iconic skyscraper located in Bogotá Colombia, 50 stories high and 196
m2, was built between 1973 and 1978. Its architect was the firm Obregón,
Valenzuela & Cía. Ltda. and its constructor was the company Pizano Pradilla
Caro y Restrepo Ltda. Its construction required the use of innovative seismic-
resistant techniques: a 50-meter excavation to anchor the building with 24
foundation shafts resting on a platform, which required more than 6,000 m³
of concrete.It has 15 elevators and with them transports an average of 5,700
people daily between residents and visitors, its beautiful lighting makes it
unique.
