Revlon decided to drop Fashion Models and focus on Movie Stars for their advertisements post 2000. These include Halle Berry, Jessica Alba who went on to become its Brand Ambassadors.

The 1977 acquisition of Carlos Colomer, a Spanish professional beauty supply distributor, brought Fermodyl and Roux and helped introduce Revlon to the world of ethnic care.

On November 5, 1985, Revlon was sold to Pantry Pride (later renamed to Revlon Group, Inc.), a subsidiary of Ronald Perelman's MacAndrews & Forbes Holdings for a price of $58 per share amounting to $2.7 Billion.

Max Factor and Betrix were purchased for Revlon in 1987 and 1989 respectively and were later sold to Procter & Gamble in 1991.
