▫ Katharine kolcaba lahir dan di didik di Cleveland,Ohio pada

tahun 1965.Dia mendapatkan diploma dalam Katharine sebelum
kembali ke sekolah,dia juga melakukan perawatan di rumah.saat
di sekolah,dia membagi pekerjaan dengan posisi kepala
perawat.Dalam situasi ini Katharine mulai berteori tentang
kenyamanan.(Martha Raile Alligood “NURSING THEORISTS AND THEIR WORK”
chapter 33 Theory of Comfort Katharine Kolcaba page 657 ).
▫ Kolcaba merupakan profesor Keperawatan di Universitas Akron
College of Nursing.Dia adalah pendiri dan koordinator program
perawat paroki lokal.(Martha Raile Alligood “NURSING THEORISTS AND THEIR
WORK” chapter 33 Theory of Comfort Katharine Kolcaba page 657-658).
▫ Kolcaba bergabung dengan fakultas di University of Akron
college of nursing setelah lulus dengan gelar master di bidang
