 Always Verb 1 after Modal

4. I like a lot it, I like a lot your bag, etc


 Pattern : Like + something + a lot + I like it a lot, I like the movie a lot
 Or about quantity we put as : I like a lot of sugar in my coffee, I like a lot
of colors in my class

5. Word Order for very well
 We put it in the end of sentence

Ex :

You speak very well English (X)

He plays very well basketball (X)


The correct one is : You speak English very well, He plays basketball very well

6. One of from Plural noun


 One is my friend is an actress (X)

 My Kopi O is one of my favorite restaurant (X)

Pattern : One of my + Plural noun

Become : One of my friends is an actress, My Kopi O is one of my favorite restaurants

7. From Plural to Singular nouns


 A five years old boy plays piano very well (X)

 I want to but a 14 inches Laptop (X)

 It was only a 30 minutes ice breaking (X)

8. Using word “Recommend”


Ex :
 Ana recommends me a good restaurant (X)
 Can you recommend me the best grammar book? (X)

Pattern : recommend +something


 Ana recommends a good restaurant to me

 Can you recommend the best grammar book?

9. To before “Home”
Ex:
 I’m so tired, let’s go to home (X)
 When you land to home, please call me (X)

The correct one is without “to”


10. Using “Funny and Fun”
Ex:
 It was a funny party (X)

The correct one: It was a fun party

11. Using “Feel bad”
Ex :
I feel bad. I need to see the doctor (X)
I don’t feel well/good. I need to see the doctor (correct)
Feel bad means sympathy/guilty
Ex:

I feel bad I can’t help that old lady


Jany lost her job. I really felt bad of her
12. Using Word “In”
Ex :
 I search the topic in internet (X)
 I always watch Atta in You tube(X)

13. Don’t separate the Number
Ex:
 I lived here for two years and half (X)

 His house is about one hour a half (X)

The correct one:


 I lived here for two and half years
 His house is about one and half hour

(we can use an/a to change one)

Ex :
one dollar = a dollar
