 PURPOSE
SYSTEMS
Systems are tools, normally on our computer,
we use to store, analyze, and make conclusions
on data.
Standardized systems allow us to ensure that
data inputs and outputs are in compatible
formats; thus, allowing us to efficiently &
effectively communicate with others and other
systems.

Metrics are equations we use to measure our
improvement from a current state to a future
state; often referred to as KPI’s (Key
Performance Indicators).
Standardized metrics allow us to speak the same
language and achieve similar goals at all levels
of the organization.

 Communicating the right data to the right people, reports, and systems
 Decrease manual data entry
 Always retrieve data from original source
 Increase IE effectiveness
 Ensure better data accuracy & reliability
 Design a full circle of metrics to cross validate

A few examples of standard metrics used to measure performance and capability in Jabil… many
more will be encountered.
Overall Labor Efficiency– describes how efficient
