David Livingstone

Biography
David Livingstone was born on
March 19, 1813, and died on May 1,
1873. He was a British physician,
Congregationalist, and the first
Christian missionary of the London
Missionary Society as well as an
explorer of Africa.
In 1852, Livingston traveled to the village of Linyanti on the Zambezi River when he reached the
coast of Portugal on the Atlantic Ocean in 1854 Livingston realized that this route would be difficult
for future traders and made his way back to Linyanti. Then with 114 men, Collo traveled eastward
down the Zambezi, eventually reaching the shore of the Indian Ocean, charting much of the riverbed
