Recombination

- Single Cross over

A single crossover is when homologous chromosomes are
aligned, and chromatids from two different chromosomes
can exchange segments resulting in genetic recombination

- Double Cross over

In double crossovers,
chromatids from two
homologous
chromosomes come
in contact and
exchanged at two
points.

- Four-strand exchange or Cross over

If crossover occurs at the fourth strand stage, after the replication
there are four chromatids with sister chromatids being unlike to
each other
