AL-INVEST VERDE - OBJECTIVE:

Promote sustainable growth and jobs creation supporting the transition towards
a low-carbon, resource-efficient and a more circular economy in Latin America.

 COMPONENT 1: GRANT SCHEME FOR
EU-LA PRIVATE SECTOR
PARTNERSHIPS
Implementation: Delegated
to a EU-LAC consortium of
business support
organisations.
Beneficiaries: The scheme
will target mainly SMEs,
business organisations and
industrial clusters, as well as
research centres and
universities.
Partnerships: Each proposal
should be submitted by a
partnership which has to
include at least one
organisation from the
European Union and at least
one organisation from a Latin
American country where the
action is to be implemented.
Multiplier effect: With the
adequate dissemination of the
experience and insights
provided by the innovative
projects, we have a significant
potential to identify, develop
and implement future
bankable projects and
investment opportunities.
COMPONENT 1: GRANT SCHEME FOR EU-LA
PRIVATE SECTOR PARTNERSHIPS
Design phase: use of eco-
innovation and eco-design
approaches supported by new
technologies.
Logistics and distribution
phase: lowering CO2 emissions
in the distribution of products
and services to retailers and
consumers and uptake of new
business models based on renting
goods.
Production phase: resource
efficiency; reduction of CO2
emissions; industrial waste
prevention; circular economy and
3R practices (reduce, reuse, recycle
approach); change of corporate
policies benefitting the
environment.
Consumption and end-of-life
management: Extended Producer
Responsibility (EPR); increase
consumers awareness (promotion of
recycling practices, information on
traceability and carbon footprint of
products).

launched on 22 December 2020, deadline for concept
notes on15 February 2021.
 Signature of contract indicatively in July-September
2021.
 Operationalisation of the contract, indicatively by
December 2021.
 Launch of the Grant Scheme, indicatively during the
first term of 2022.
