Such a time as this

It is all about deeds and rewards

Rev 22 :12
12“Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will
give to each person according to what they have done.
God created you in his image and
planted you to work, take care and
keep it.
It is not about you
Gen 1:26-28 –
2:5-8
15-18 - helper
Gen 1:26-28
• 26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our
likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea,
and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the
earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the
earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of
God created he him; male and female created he them. 28 And
God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and
multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have
dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air,
and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
Gen 2:5-8
• 5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every
herb of the field before it grew: for the Lord God had not caused it to
rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. 6
But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face
of the ground. 7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the
ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man
became a living soul. 8 And the Lord God planted a garden eastward
in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.
Gen 2:15-18

• 15The LORD God took the man and put him in the

Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. 16And
the LORD God commanded the man, “You are free to
eat from any tree in the garden; 17but you must not
eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil,
for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”
• 18The LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to
be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”
Abraham was chosen to dawn a nation out of him and be
a blessing to other nations- Gen 12:1-4
• 1The LORD had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your
father’s household to the land I will show you.
• 2 “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name
great, and you will be a blessing.”
• 3 “I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all
peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”
• 4So Abram went, as the LORD had told him; and Lot went with him. Abram was
seventy-five years old when he set out from Harran. 5He took his wife Sarai, his
nephew Lot, all the possessions they had accumulated and the people they had
acquired in Harran, and they set out for the land of Canaan, and they arrived
there.
We are ordained for a purpose
Jeremiah 1:4-10,
• 4 The word of the LORD came to me, saying, 5 “Before I formed you
in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I
appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” 6 “Alas, Sovereign LORD,”
I said, “I do not know how to speak; I am too young.” 7 But
the LORD said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am too young.’ You must go to
everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. 8 Do not be
afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares
the LORD. 9 Then the LORD reached out his hand and touched my
mouth and said to me, “I have put my words in your mouth. 10 See,
today I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear
down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant.”
Jesus came on this earth for a purpose
Matthew 1:21 -23
• 21She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name
Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”
• 22All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the
prophet: 23“The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they
will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).
Peter: Matthew 4:19, 16:18

• 9“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will

send you out to fish for people.”

• 18And I tell you that you are Peter, and on

this rock I will build my church, and the
gates of Hades will not overcome it.
Paul chosen vessel to the gentiles, their kings and the
people of Israel: Acts 9 15-17
• 15 But the Lord said to Ananias, “Go! This man is my
chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles
and their kings and to the people of Israel 16 I will show
him how much he must suffer for my name.”
• 17 Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing
his hands on Saul, he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord—Jesus,
who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here
—has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with
the Holy Spirit.”
Joseph: All things together to accomplish
God’s purpose (Genesis 50:20-21)
• 20 You intended to harm me, but God
intended it for good to accomplish what is now
being done, the saving of many lives. 21 So
then, don’t be afraid. I will provide for you and
your children.” And he reassured them and
spoke kindly to them.
Esther 4:13-14
• 13 he sent back this answer: “Do not think that because you are in the
king’s house you alone of all the Jews will escape. 14 For if you remain
silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from
another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who
knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time
as this?”
God is always looking for someone will you be the person:
2 Chronicles 16:19,Ezekial 22:30-31, 1 Samuel 1:11,28
•  9For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen
those whose hearts are fully committed to him. You have done a
foolish thing, and from now on you will be at war.”
• 30“I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall
and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not
have to destroy it, but I found no one. 31So I will pour out my wrath
on them and consume them with my fiery anger, bringing down on
their own heads all they have done, declares the Sovereign LORD.”
• 11 And she made a vow, saying, “LORD Almighty, if
you will only look on your servant’s misery and
remember me, and not forget your servant but give
her a son, then I will give him to the LORD for all
the days of his life, and no razor will ever be used
on his head.”
• . 28 So now I give him to the LORD. For his whole
life he will be given over to the LORD.” And he
worshiped the LORD there.
