Dangerous Jobs

While work offers

many economic and
other benefits,
it also presents
a wide range of
dangers to the
health and safety
of people in the
workplace.
Physical dangers
affect many
people in the
workplace.
Hearing loss is the most
common occupational injury in

the United States, with
22 million workers exposed to
dangerous noise levels at work
and approximately $ 242
million spent annually on
workers compensation for
hearing loss. Machines are
equipped with moving
parts, sharp edges, hot
surfaces and other hazards
that can potentially crush,
burn, cut, shear, pierce or
otherwise strike or injure
workers if used in an unsafe
