    HISTORY

    Windows 2000 is a line of operating systems produced by Microsoft for use on personal computers, business desktops, laptops, and servers. It was released on 17th February 2000. It was succeeded by Windows XP for desktop systems in October 2001 and Windows Server 2003 for servers in April 2003.

    HARDWARE CONFIGURATION
    Windows 2000 is based NT kernel and is sometimes referred to as Windows NT 5.0. It is a Multiprocessing System and supports up to 2 processors of the x86 32-bit and 64bit architecture Minimum requirements for installation are : Intel Pentium Processor with 133MHz speed. 32mb Main Memory. 650 mb of free Hard Disk Space.

    DISADVANTAGES
    Windows 2000 have poor graphics. Win2000 doesn't have wireless support . If an installation doesn't work, their only recourse is to wipe out everything by reformatting the disk drive and reinstalling the operating system and all their applications.
