INTRODUCTION
• Completing a bachelor's or engineering degree is often difficult, for different reasons. However,
there is a modality that has gained ground: studying online and, in addition, it has been the best
way to continue your academic preparation.
But like everything in life, it also has negative factors.
Studying online is an option that grows in popularity in Mexico as time goes by. For this reason,
there are more and more people interested in researching this type of study. Analyzing the
advantages and disadvantages of studying online in Mexico will help people make the best
decision.
ADVANTAGES OF STUDYING ONLINE
• Time saving
Time is one of the factors considered within the advantages and disadvantages of studying online
in Mexico. In those cases, saving time ends up being a clear advantage when learning online.
This is because people do not have to leave home and get transportation to attend their classes.
• You become more responsible
As it is an online modality, without schedules or pressures, you begin to take responsibility
without being imposed. You become an autonomous person and as time passes you become more
independent; responsibility will become part of you
• It allows you to work
it is common to work and study at the same time. This online modality will allow you to work in
what you are most passionate about or if you want to study a master's or diploma this is the best
option.
• Affordability
There are validated online courses that offer some free classes or promote offers that result in cost
savings.
In addition to decreasing tuition fees and monthly payments, you save money in other ways. For
example, people who study online do not spend money to move and / or travel to the place of
study.
DISADVANTAGES OF STUDYING ONLINE
• Absence of feedback
One of the disadvantages of studying online is the lack of feedback. When studying going to a
physical institute or university, there is that beneficial learning from other study partners. On the
other hand, those who study online miss the opportunity to meet more people with similar
interests.
• Excessive time in front of a screen
Being able to study and earn a degree or certificate while in front of a screen is beneficial.
However, this fact is classified as a disadvantage of studying online. That's because spending so
much time in front of an electronic device's screen hurts your eyesight.
• Possibility of irresponsibility
Not having the pressure to attend classes or turn in assignments on time could be negative.
Unfortunately, there are people who, not feeling pressured, tend to be irresponsible and lose the
determination to finish studying. Therefore, the flexibility and comfort provided by these studies
could be considered prejudices of studying online.
• Technical problems
What happens if the internet goes off in the middle of the exam? A serious problem or
disadvantage would be just that, depending 100% on a good internet connection.
CONCLUSION
With these data it will be important that each person knows how to manage the options of online
studies for their benefit.
Both modalities are officially valid and companies take them into account.
