 Pertumbuhan dan Perkembnagan
Makhluk Hidup.
Pertumbuhan adalah :
Peristiwa perubahan biologis yang terjadi pada makhluk hidup, berupa
perubahan ukuran yang bersifat ireversibel (tidak berubah kembali ke asal)
karena adanya tambahan substansi dan perubahan bentuk (volume, tinggi,
massa) yang terjadi saat proses pertumbuhan berlangsung pada makhluk
hidup

Perkembangan adalah :
Proses menuju tercapainya kedewasaan atau tingkat yang lebih sempurna
pada makhluk hidup.

 PERBEDAAN ANTARA PERTUMBUHAN DENGAN
PERKEMBANGAN

Pertumbuhan Perkembangan
- dapat diukur secara - tidak dapat dinyatakan
kwantitatif karena secara kwantitatif,

- ada perubahan jumlah kwalitatif karena terjadi

- dapat dinyatakan tingkat kedewasaan

Diferensiasi adalah :
Suatu situasi dimana sel-sel meristematik berkembang menjadi
dua atau lebih macam sel/jaringan/organ tanaman yang secara
kualitatif berbeda satu dengan yang lainnya.

Merupakan proses hidup yang menyangkut transformasi sel

tertentu ke sel-sel yang lain menurut spesialisasinya (baik
spesialisasi dalam hal proses biokimia, fisiologi, maupun
struktural)

Misalnya : pembentukan jaringan

xylem dan phloem
Morfogenesis merupakan :
Proses hidup yang menyangkut interaksi pertumbuhan dan
diferensiasi oleh beberapa sel yang memacu terbentuknya
organ.

Misalnya :
pembentukan daun, buah, batang, bunga, akar

Sel meristematik adalah : sel muda yang

masih aktif membelah

Jaringan meristematik : suatu jaringan

yang sel-selnya masih aktif

Gen
 Gen adalah faktor pembawa sifat menurun yang terdapat di
dalam sel makhluk hidup
Gen berpengaruh pada setiap struktur makhluk hidup dan
perkembangannya
Contoh: Gen untuk sifat-sifat seperti bentuk tubuh, tinggi tubuh,
warna kulit, berbatang tinggi, dll

Warna dan jenis mawar yang berbeda DNA dalam Gen

dipengaruhi gen
 HORMON
Hormon (zat tumbuh) adalah senyawa organik (zat kimia) pada
manusia dan sebagian hewan yang dihasilkan oleh kelenjar
endokrin. Hormon mempengaruhi reproduksi,
metabolisme(pertukaran zat) dan pertumbuhan perkembangan

Contoh Hormon:
1. Growth Hormone (hormon pertumbuhan): Hormon yang
mempengaruhi kecepatan pertumbuhan seseorang
2. Gigantisme: Kelainan karena kelebihan growth hormone sehingga
seseorang mengalami pertumbuhan luar biasa Kekerdilan:
Kelainan karena seseorang kekurangan hormon pertumbuhan
3. Kretinisme: Perumbuhan yang lambat dan mental terbelakang
pada anak-anak karena kekurangan hormon tiroksin
Gigantisme (pada gambar sebelah kanan)
 NUTRISI
Nutrisi merupakan bahan pembangun tubuh makhluk hidup
Nutrisi meliputi protein, karbohidrat, lemak, vitamin, mineral,

Yaitu: Pertumbuhan dan perkembangan selama masa embrio

melalui suatu tahap tertentu yang sistematik dan teratur.

Diawali dengan fertilisasi yang menghasilkan zigot

Tahap: Pembelahan zigot, Gastrulasi Organogenesis

Pembelahan zigot (cleavage)
Zigot Morula (spt buah anggur) Blastula (memiliki rongga)
Membelah menghasilkan Blastulasi

Gastrulasi
Yaitu proses pembentukan gastrula yang memiliki tiga lapisan embrionik, yakni:
1. Lapisan bagian luar (ektoderm) yang berdiferensiasi menjadi kulit, rambut, sistem
syaraf dan indera
Pertumbuhan dan perkembangan
embrionik
2. Lapisan bagian tengah (mesoderm): yang berdiferensiasi menjadi otak, rangka, alat
reproduksi, alat sirkulasi, alat ekskresi
3. Lapisan bagian dalam (endoderm): yang berdiferensiasi menjadi alat pencernaan dan alat
respirasi

Organogenesis
Yaitu proses pembentukan alat-alat tubuh (organ) seperti otak, jantung, paru-paru,Ginjal,
hati dsb

Pertumbuhan dan Perkembangan Pasca Embrionik

Yaitu: Pertumbuhan dan perkembangan setelah masa embrio, meliputi:

-Penyempurnaan alat-alat reproduksi
-Penampakan sifat-sifat seks sekunder
-Peningkatan ukuran bagian-bagian tubuh
