SURRENDE

R TO GOD
Ezekiel 44:9NLT
"So this is what the Sovereign Lord
says: No foreigners, including those
who live among the people of Israel,
will enter my sanctuary if they have
not been circumcised (in heart or
flesh) and have not surrendered
themselves to the Lord.
Ezekiel 44:9
9”Busa ako, ang Ginoong Dios,
nag-ingon: ang langyaw nga
wala motuo sa Dios, bisan ang
mga langyaw nga nag puyo
tipon kaninyo, dili pasudlon sa
akong Templo.”
God?
Both of these uses of the word ‘surrender’
are relevant when we talk about
surrendering to God. It is acknowledging
that you have been fighting God, and that
you should stop it and allow Him to tell you
how your life should be. And it is a positive
thing, because when God takes over in your
life, you are filled with all the good things
that He wants to give to you.
Biblical Definition of
Surrender
Surrender means accepting that
the battle has been won not on
your terms, and you are willingly
giving your life over to the
authority of the winning side. It
means taking a humble position
and embracing what is over how
you would have it.
What does surrender mean
spiritually?
When you surrender spiritually,
you stop forcing solutions on
situations you can't control and
instead trust and have faith that
there is a Divine force taking care
of everything in a perfectly
orchestrated manner.
Why God allowed
horrible and painful
situations to happen
in our lives?
Because God wants us to
surrender.
To surrender is not an option,
to surrender your life is the
perfect will of God for all of us.
How Should I
Surrender to
God?
1. Surrendering is
STOP FIGHTING.

‘Surrender’ is used in various

ways. An army surrenders to a
victorious army.
It acknowledges the Superior
Power of the other army, and
allows that army to decide what
to do with the losing side.
2. Surrendering is
STOPPING YOUR RESISTANCE

A second way to use ‘surrender’ is to

say: ‘I surrender to love’.
It means that you stop your
resistance against the feeling, and
that you allow yourself to be fully
filled with it.
What should I
surrender to
God?
1. Surrender your
MIND
Surrendering your mind does not
mean to stop thinking. It means
to think according to God’s will.
An important aspect of
surrendering your mind is to
stop filling it with
temptations to sin.
Surrendering your mind is saying farewell
to all that and instead to fill your mind with
“whatever is honorable, whatever is just,
whatever is pure, whatever is lovely,
whatever is commendable, if there is any
excellence, if there is anything worthy of
praise, think about these things”
Philippians 4:8
8Sa kataposan, mga igsoon,
pun-a ang inyong hunahuna sa
mga butang nga maayo ug
angayng daygon, sa mga
butang nga matuod, ligdong,
matarong, putli, matahom ug
halangdon.
2. Surrender your
BODY
If you believe in Jesus, your
body is a temple of the Holy
Spirit...
6:19
Don't you realize that your
body is the temple of the
Holy Spirit, who lives in you
and was given to you by
God? You do not belong to
yourself,
20
19Wala ba kamo masayod nga ang
inyong lawas mao ang templo sa Espiritu
Santo nga nagpuyo diha kaninyo ug nga
gihatag sa Dios kaninyo? Dili kamo ang
tag-iya sa inyong kaugalingon kondili
ang Dios. 20Gipalit na kamo niya. Busa
gamita ang inyong lawas alang sa
himaya sa Dios.
So, treat your body
with honor…
Malachi 2:14-16
14Ug mangutana kamo kon ngano kini?
Tungod kay nasayod siya nga wala
ninyo tumana ang inyong gisaad sa
inyong asawa sa dihang gikasal kamo
sa batan-on pa kamo. Ang inyong
asawa inyong gibudhian bisag nagsaad
kamo sa Dios nga magminatud-on
ngadto sa inyong asawa.
Malachi 2:14-16
15Wala ba kamo hiusaha sa Dios sa
lawas ug sa espiritu? Unsay tuyo niya
niini? Aron makabaton kamog mga
anak nga tinuod nga katawhan sa
Dios. Busa pagmatngon kamo nga dili
ninyo lapason ang gisaad ninyo sa
inyong asawa sa dihang gikasal
kamo.
Malachi 2:14-16
16“Dili ko gusto nga bulagan ninyo
ang inyong asawa,” nag-ingon ang
Ginoo, ang Dios sa Israel. “Dili ako
gusto nga buhaton sa bana kining
daotang butang ngadto sa iyang
asawa. Busa pagmatngon kamo ug
ayaw ninyog lapasa ang inyong
gipanumpa ngadto sa inyong asawa.”
3. Surrender your
WILL
Jesus prayed “not My will but
Yours be done”
-Luke 22:42
Luke 22:42
42“Amahan,” miingon siya,
“kon buot ka, kuhaa kining
kupa gikan kanako. Apan dili
ang akong pagbuot kondili
ang imo maoy matuman.”
If you set your will against
God’s will, you are damaging
the people around you.
It might feel it’s better for
yourself, but that is a mistake.
Why should I
surrender to
God?
1. Surrendering is
OBLIGATE for a Christian
The first benefit of surrendering
to God is salvation.
Surrendering to God is not
optional for a Christian- it is
the definition of what a
Christian is.
When you put your trust in
Jesus as your Savior, you
also accept Him as Lord of
your life.
2. Surrendering is letting
us LIVE CLOSE to God
The second benefit, that comes
with full surrender, is that we
live close to God.
“He who loves me will be
loved by my Father, and I
will love him and manifest
myself to him”
John 14:21
“Ang modawat sa akong mga sugo
ug magtuman niini mao ang
nahigugma kanako. Ang akong
Amahan mahigugma kaniya nga
nahigugma kanako ug ako usab
mahigugma kaniya ug magpaila sa
akong kaugalingon ngadto kaniya.”
3. Surrendering let us
SERVE God

The third benefit of surrendering

to God is power for service.
We cannot serve God in our
own power. But when we
yield to the influence of the
Holy Spirit, God can use us.
Acts 4:31
“They were all filled with the Holy
Spirit and continued to speak the
word of God with boldness.”

Ug silang tanan napuno sa Espiritu

Santo ug sa walay kahadlok nagwali
sa mensahe sa Dios.”
What is the
proof of
surrendering to
God?
1. To surrender, you need to
TRUST GOD

Surrendering to God begins with

a decision. That is more easily
said than done
You really need to trust God
to know best in every aspect
of your life. Only then can
you take the decision to let
God be the boss in your life
who can tell you what to do.
2. To surrender, you need to TELL
GOD
Surrendering to God continues
with telling God: ‘Lord, I
surrender to you, I surrender all
of my mind, my body, and my
will. Lead me in your truth.’
He is God almighty, and
He will sustain you, also
in your decision to
surrender.
3. To surrender, you need to
STAY WITH GOD

Surrendering to God is also

sustained by good habits.
Reading the Word of God
will keep your mind
focused on the will of God.
Worshiping God will help
you stay close to the God
you surrendered to.
Fleeing evil will help you
to stay on God’s side and
not be trapped by the
devil.
God knows best. He gave
Jesus Christ to be the
Savior for everyone who
believes in Him. To receive
the full benefits of his
salvation, you should fully
surrender to God.
Decide not to do your will,
but God’s will. Then you will
be close to God and
experience his power. Read
the Bible and worship God to
continue being blessed in
your life surrendered to God.
Psalms 51:16-17
You do not desire a sacrifice, or I
would offer one. You do not want
a burnt offering. The sacrifice
you desire is a broken spirit. You
will not reject a broken and
repentant heart, O God.
Psalms 51:16-17
16Dili ka gusto sa mga halad-
sinunog, ug kon maghalad ako
kanimo niini, dili ka malipay. 17Ang
halad ko, O Dios, mao ang espiritu
nga mapaubsanon; dili mo isalikway,
O Dios, ang kasingkasing nga
mapaubsanon ug mahinulsolon
