Why is

honesty valued
so greatly?

Honesty is
important
because...
If you are trustworthy  people can trust
you with their work when they are sick or
not able to do it. In the story Mrs. Jones
was trustworthy because when she was
cooking Rodger moved to a spot where he
thought Mrs. Jones could see him.

Honesty is vital to having a good
life...
• With honesty, you can have a good reputation and be
known for not lying but telling the truth.  Having a good
reputation can get you a better job and more people
would want you to work for them.

Why honesty is important
for having a good
relationship with God

It is important because when

you are honest you become
more Christlike and closer to
God.
You also get to build
a relationship with the Lord
because of your honesty and
you become more like Jesus.

Consequence for being dishonest

• If you are a dishonest person people will not trust you

and you will not be able to find a job or career in life
because of your dishonest reputation.
• You also can go to jail if you are being dishonest to the
government and can suffer serious consequences.

The consequence from God

• When we are dishonest, we get further from God and

closer to sin and we won't have a good relationship God.
In the story Mrs. Jones told Rodger that if he had stolen
her pocketbook and took the money to buy the shoes it
would "come by devilish like that will burn your feet."

Consequence (the big one)

• In the Bible it states that the wages of sin is death and if

you continue being a dishonest person, you will travel
further away from God, and it will take a while to
comeback from that path and find a new road.
