WILL
 USE:

1. to talk about future in a general way


e.g. I will finish my tasks this evening

2. Instant decisions
e.g I’ve left the door open, I will go and close it.
 FORM:

 Afirmative: Subject + will + verb in infinitive.

 Negative: Subject + won´t + verb in infinitive.

- Interrogative: Will + subject + verb in infinitive?


BE GOING TO
 USE:
1. To talk about predictions. That means something based
on a present situation.
e.g. “Look at that boy on the roof! He is going to fall
down! “

2. Intentions:
e.g. Sarah is going to sell her car.
 FORM:

- Afirmative: Subject +am/is/are+going to+ verb in infinitive.

- Negative: Subject +am not/isn´t/aren´t+going to+verb in


infinitive

- Interrogative: Am/Is/Are+subject+going to+verb in infinitive?


PRESENT CONTINUOUS
 USE:

1. To talk about arrangements and plans. (I have arranged to do it,


I have a plan to do it).
e.g. We are having a party next weekend.
I’m going to a concert tomorrow.
I’m not working next week.

Be going to vs present continuous


 Present continuous: It has been arranged.
 Be going to: I’m intending to, but it has not necessarily been
arranged.
