Cyber Crime: Introduction

Cyber crime, or computer-oriented crime, is a crime that involves a


computer and a network. The computer may have been used in the
commission of a crime, or it may be the target.
 Cyber crime is Internet based crime. The internet in India is growing
rapidly. It has given rise to new opportunities in every field we can say think
to be it entertainment ,business ,sports or education.
 There are two sides to of a coin. Internet has it’s own disadvantage is
Cyber crime. Crime Crime-illegal activity committed , Malicious programs on
the internet.
 Crime committed using a computer and steal data or information.
Cyber Crime : History
 The first Cyber crime recorded took place in the year 1820. And the
first spam e-mail recorded in 1978.The first virus was installed on an
Apple computer.
Cyber Security : Introduction

Computer security, cyber security or information technology security is the


protection of computer systems and networks from the theft of or damage to
their hardware, software, or electronic data, as well as from the disruption
or misdirection of the services they provide.
Cyber Security : Advantages
 Protects system against viruses, worms, spyware and other unwanted
programs.
 Protection against data from theft.
 Protects the computer from being hacked.
 Minimizes computer freezing and crashes.
 Gives privacy to users.
Cyber Crime : Disadvantages
• It could cause a violation of privacy.
• It can steal your personal and sensitive information and use it for
malicious activities.
• It can cause data loss that could lead to a business demise.
• Exposure to security risks that come with connecting to a large
network.
• It can delete and misuse the necessary data of the organizations.
 Cyber Crime :Conclusion
 Technology is destructive only in the hands of people who do not
realize that they are one and same process as the universe.
