BOLHO FESTIVAL

MUNICIPALITY OF BOLJOON

BOLHO Festival is an annual dance festival of the Municipality of Boljoon.


The term “bolho” is originated from the legend of the municipality on how it
got its name. Bolho is the term derived from the water sprouts such as
brooks, streams and the like, which the municipality is rich of, then and now.
TOSTADO FESTIVAL

MUNICIPALITY OF SANTANDER
Tostado Festival falls on 3rd Sunday of April and its located in Santander place.
The festival emphasize the highlights of a street daning that uses different
movements of  making the tostado. Tostado is  their  famous delicacy which is a
sweet toasted biscuits. This celebration is manifested the people's unique
identity, for the proper culture and tradition of  this  town.
TOSLOB FESTIVAL

MUNICIPALITY OF OSLOB

The town has its own festival in honor of the patroness of the town, the
Immaculate Concepcion. The Toslob Festival of Oslob has a rather
interesting history since it started off as a festival in one of the barangays of
the town. Originally named the Sadsad Festival, it started off as a festival in
Barangay Poblacion.
SAK-SAK FESTIVAL

MUNICIPALITY OF SAMBOAN

Sak-Sak Festival was taken from a palm tree which is commonly found in
the town and called it "saksak". It is a plant that most likely growth with a
single unbranched topped and fanlike or feather leaves. Sak-Sak
provides the richness in dancing, uses of saksak, foods,great economic
importance and ornamental use in the people of Samboanon.
HINATDAN FESTIVAL

MUNICIPALITY OF GINATILAN
To portray the significant and religious origin of Ginatilan, “Hinatdan Festival”
was organized to inspire people to work harder in service to God and
community for an abundant harvest. This is held every second Sunday of
March – March 10 and 11 of this year – in honor of St. Gregory the Great (Pope
Gregory I).
MUNICIPALITY OF MALABUYOC
The town of Malabuyoc is located in the southern part of the island. Its
name supposedly came from the Cebuano term “buyoc,” which means to
bend down heavily. The name is based on a story indicating that the town
was once abundant in many fruit-bearing trees, like mangoes, cacaos,
and lanzones, among others. Some of these trees apparently had so
much fruits that they would bend down due to the weight.
MUNICIPALITY OF BADIAN
Banig Festival is a local festivity that is being celebrated by the residents of
Badian Municipality, Cebu Province.It is usually celebrated on July (25) to
align with the feast day of its local patron saint - James the Apostle.
it is also expresses the people’s religiosity and probably their sense to
gratitude for this source of livelihood. During this festivity, delicacies, various
sorts of products (mostly organic) and its famous ‘banig’ (mat) are being
showcased and are also available to purchase.
