INTRODUCTION
• Stock Holding Corporation of India Limited (SHCIL) is an Indian custodian and
depository participant, based in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
• SHCIL was established in 1986 as a public limited company and is a subsidiary
of IFCI.
• It is also responsible for e-stamping system around India. It is also authorized by
Reserve Bank of India as Agency Bank to distribute and receive Govt. of India
savings/relief bond 2003 along with nationalized banks

• The Stock Holding Corporation has three subsidiaries:


•  SHCIL Services Ltd (stock brokering services)
•  Stock Holding Document Management Services Limited (provides end-to-end
document storage and digitization services)
•  Stock Holding Securities IFSC Limited (A SEBI registered intermediary
operating out of GIFT IFSC, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, and catering to Eligible
Foreign Investors (EFIs), FPIs and NRIs from FATF compliant jurisdictions as of
now).

DEMAT ACCOUNT
• A Demat account is a necessary account to hold financial securities in a digital
form and to trade in the share market. In India, Demat accounts are maintained by
two depository organizations, the National Securities Depository Limited and the
Central Depository Services Limited.
• Your Demat account is paid on T+2 day (2 business days after the date of
transaction) when you buy shares in your trading account. When you sell stocks,
your Demat account is debited on the T+1 day. You can take a Demat account as a
bank account where your investments are kept secure.
Documents required for opening demat account in SHCIL
 
• Photo with Across signature
• PAN Copy
• Address Proof (Aadhar, Voter Id, Passport, Driving License, any
one proof)
• Nominee Id Proof (if any)
• Cancelled Cheque Leaf with name printed / Bank Passbook front

• Checking whether KYC is registered or not in NSE KRA website

TRADING ACCOUNT
• A trading account is an investment account that holds Documents required for Trading Account
securities, cash and other holdings like any brokerage Opening:

• Major of the clients would be from Sakthi finance and ABT Industries.
• I have collected Account Maintenance Charges for the Demat accounts
opened by various clients.
