Ayabaca
The festivity is celebrated on October 12 and 14 of each year
for being one of the most popular expressions of faith and
devotion in the national territory and an important
reference in the collective activity for its devotees.

According to history, in the year 1751, the Spanish priest,

García Guerrero wanted to give his people an image of the
Lord; for which it was decided to use a trunk, from which
blood had sprouted after a farmer gave it an axe. It was
from a cedar tree, found in the Zahumerio de Jililí hill.
