INTRODUCTION
Background of the Study
Product History
• The Philippines is a tropical country with mostly dry weather,
Filipinos enjoy eating cold foods, including ice cream. From reunions
and get-togethers to individual enjoyment and rewards, ice cream
is one of the most exquisite sweets that Filipinos may have. Many
individuals enjoyed ice cream, but we all know that certain people
are unable to eat it due to health issues. This Veggie Ice Cream
would contain a variety of veggies such as carrots, moringa oleifera
(also known as "malunggay"), and bitter gourd, providing consumers
with a nutritious and enjoyable treat.
• They contain less sugar than chocolate or frozen fruit varieties.
Vegetables are also high in vitamins and critical micronutrients,
giving these ice creams further nutritious value. In addition,
instead of sugar, natural sweeteners like Stevia and monk fruit
might improve their health factor. The various flavors and
additives in ice cream maintain its popularity among consumers.
Demographics
• According to the short survey our group conducted about
Vegetable Ice Cream within the age group of mostly 10-20
36.4% and 21-30 63.6% years old 63.6% of our respondents are
aware of vegetable ice cream and 36.4% are not and 72.7% of
them haven’t already tried it and 27.3% already did.
• With the response we got may look disappoint but as per our
respondents 90.9% of them are willing to try it compare to who
answered no which is 9.1% only and they 90.9% of them think it’s
a good idea to market it especially to the children since 90.9%
of the respondents also agree that they will recommend it to
the kids or children.
• With the score of 45.5% Karot (carrot) and Malunggay (moringa)
flavors are the most popular and people are more willing to try
compare to Kalabas (squash) and Mongo (mung bean) who both
got 27.3%.
