Rationale Towards effective and efficient administration of Katarungang Pambarangay, the Lupon Tagapamayapa Chairman and members must be appropriately equipped with the knowledge, skills and proper attitude on settling disputes, especially on the procedures in accordance with the Local Government Code of 1991 and the Revised Katarungang Pambarangay Law. Rationale Recognizing lupon as an administrative body vested with conciliation and arbitrational functions, the need to capacitate barangay officials with the necessary skills and knowledge in handling cases involving children, women, and the indigenous people in consonance with KP law is necessary Objectives Generally, at the end of the three (3) day activity the participants shall be able to gain knowledge and skills to dispute settlement through gender responsive, child friendly and IP relevant Katarungang Pambarangay at the barangay level Objectives Specifically, it aims to fulfill the following objectives:
Explain the duties and responsibilities of the Lupong
Tagapamayapa for a Gender-Responsive, Child-Friendly and IP- relevant Katarungang Pambarangay; Acquire a clearer understanding on the scope of their powers, duties and functions as Lupong Tagapamayapa members and acquire right judgment and procedures on when to refer the cases to the proper office. Objectives Discuss salient features of various laws on children, women and indigenous peoples as guide in performing the functions of a Lupong Tagapamayapa; and
