DESCRIPTIONS

Welcome! This 14-16 weeks course is designed for students (English


pre-service teachers) who are interested and intended to plan , write,
and conduct research in English language teaching. This course is
intended to develop their own knowledge and practices in this area.
This course aims to help students in compelling research plan in
particular cases using various methodological approaches in language
teaching, as well as a plan to help them in conducting seminar thesis
proposal in English language teaching.

WHY DO I CONDUCT RESEARCH?
Purpose:
 To understand particular phenomenon, situation, or
behavior
 To expand or create knowledge
 To inform action or improve service

Research Impact:

The demonstrable contributions, beneficial effects, changes or


advantages that research brings to society, culture, public
policy or service, health, the environment, and etc.
HOW TO WRITE A RESEARCH (THESIS) FOR
UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS?
WHAT WILL WE DO IN THIS COURSE?
 Holding lively discussions, engage in hands-on activities, and interact with responsible lecturer and peers on topics
related to language teaching and technology.

 Establishing a professional presence online in order to fully experience the value social media can bring to you
personally.

 Reading journal articles, and blog posts introducing, explaining, and criticizing various uses of technology in
language teaching.

 Using many online technologies to interact with one another (and the world) about language teaching.

 Using the collective knowledge of the cohort along with the new skills that we learn throughout the semester and
previous semester to enhance and innovate your thesis.

 Presenting, and discussing your thesis to improve the idea of writing, methodology, etc.

 Bring/Use Your Own Device (Laptop is recommended)

 Be Active during class

 Please have good manners and attitude!
