Why do I want to go to Los Angeles?

I chose Los Angeles as my final

destination because it holds a strong
meaning in my heart. It is the town I
grew up in (sort of). I made many
friends in my 5 years there. And I had
many unforgettable experiences. But
the main reason why I value the place

so much is that my father spent the

most time with me there. My father has
always been a busy man. He didn’t

spend much time with his family.

However, it changed after he went to
the U.S. He had less work time and
spent more time with his family.

Stop 1 : Catalina
Island
Pilgrimage

This splendid island is located 22 miles away from

Long Beach (a beach in Los Angeles). It takes about an
hour to get there by ferry. I want to visit this place
again with my family. We’ve had 3 family vacations

there. This place is full of incredible memories; I

remember hearing the sea waves crashing on the golden

sand that covered the floor as far as my eyes could

see, as gentle sea breezes rustled my hair. The island
was comforting. It is one of my favorite places to go. I
used to build enormous sand castles on the beach there
with my dad and my brother. We even went on a
submarine and helicopter tour there. Our family had so

M many marvelous and unforgettable experiences there.

Big Bear Lake is a city in California. This city is about a two-hour drive away from Los
Angeles. As a kid, our family used to go there often during the winter holidays. We would
rent a vacation home there and build snowmen in the yard. I remember on our way to Big
Bear Lake the only thing around us were snow-covered mountains and road; a light fog
wrapped around the mountain range. The chill in the air was enough to make me shiver, and a
breeze tickled the trees, making their thick leaves shake and sway. As we kept driving,
houses, stores, and restaurants covered with snow came into view. There were many ski
resorts and ice skating places in Big Bear Lake. Once we stopped, my mom would always go

into the cozy cabin and make us hot chocolate, and my brother and I would start chucking
snowballs at each other. I want to visit this amazing place with my family again. We’ve had
so many sweet memories there.

Final Destination : The city of Los Angeles

My final destination is Los Angeles. The most beautiful metropolis on the West Coast. I have lived
there for 5 years. After coming back to China, I miss the food, my friends, the breathtaking sunsets, the

beaches, the amusement parks, and the parks. But the thing I miss the most is the food. The street
food in L.A. is on a whole other level. You can go to Avenue 26 Night Market and you will find the best
street food trucks there. When you get there, you will smell the mouth-watering street food. Then, you
will hear the sizzling on the grill, the chopping on the board, and the shouting of the chefs. There are so
many unique food trucks each selling food from a different culture. Ave 26 Night Market is one of my
favorite places in L.A.
Words cannot describe how happy I would be if I get to go on this pilgrimage. I hope to make this
M pilgrimage come true one day. I really want to visit these places again with my family.
