What is a Fertilizer?
 They are one of the essential
agricultural inputs for crops to
have a higher yield.
 Fertilizers are substances rich
in nutrients that are used to
improve the characteristics of
the soil for a greater
development of agricultural
crops.
2 Types of FERTILIZER
 Chemicals: These are man-made nutrients that are generally of mineral, animal,
plant, or synthetic origin. Within the chemical fertilizers are those made with the
"main nutrients" for the soil, which are nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium.

 Organic: They are those that form naturally with little or no human participation in
their formation; They can be of mineral, vegetable, animal or mixed origin. An
example of organic fertilizer is manure.
