LESSON 7
CHANGES IN SOLID MATERIALS WHEN
EXPOSED TO TEMPERATURE
SUN

• the earth’s main source

of heat and light.
TEMPERATURE

• it is the measure of how

hot and cold an object is.
FIRE
• one of man’s mean source of
heat for cooking and
generating heat and light.
HEATED
• something increases its
temperature.
COOLED
• something decreases its
temperature.
MIXTURE
• it is the combination or
adding of two or more
objects.
HOMOGENEOUS
• mixtures that cannot be
identified to one another.
SOLID
• has definite shape and
volume.
CHANGE
• the act of becoming different
or of causing something to
become different.
Do you know that some objects
change when they are heated
and whey they are cooled?
Study the changes in water when placed inside
the freezer.
Study the changes in butter when placed in hot
pan.
SOLID
• It has definite shape and volume.
• It has different properties such as size,
shape, color, and texture.
A solid material undergoes
changes when exposed to a certain
condition such as temperature
or when mixed with other materials.
Increasing the temperature turns solid
into liquid
Reducing the temperature turns liquid
into solid.
