GAS SENSOR

INTRODUCTION
A sensor is a device that receive a signal, either in the form of physical ,
chemical or biological and convert into electrical signal . Depending on
the input signal, there are various type of sensor , such as optical,
electrical , thermal, mechanical, chemical, and so on.
Like other sensing device gas sensor is a device which can detect the
presence of various toxic and combustible gases present in the
environment.
There are a numerous use of these gas sensor . Particularly, using
these gas sensor human being can be saved from potential dangers.
Hence the gas sensor play an important role in various sector, which
include industry, medical, environment application, and domestic
applications for monitoring toxic and flammable gases.
GAS SENSOR
Gas sensor are the device that can detect the presence and
concentration of various hazardous gases and vapors, such as toxic or
explosive gases , volatile organic compound, humidity and odors.
Semiconductor sensor detect gases by a chemical reaction that takes
place when the gas comes in direct contact with the sensor. Tin dioxide
is the most common material used in semiconductor sensor , and the
electrical resistance in the sensor is decreased when it comes in contact
with the monitored gas.
Structure
PRINCIPLE
The liquefied petroleum gas(LPG) sensor is suitable for sensing LPG
(composed of mostly propane and butane) concentration in the air.
The MQ-6 can detect gas concentrations anywhere from 200 to
10000ppm. The sensor's output is an analog resistance.
FEATURES
• High sensitive to LPG, natural gas.
• Fast response time.
• Stable and long life.
• Simple drive circuit.
• Small sensitivity to alcohol and smoke.
FLOW CHART
APPLICATIONS
 Used in gas leakage detecting equipments in family and industry.
 Suitable for detecting of LPG, iso-butane, propane, LNG.
 Avoid the noise of alcohol and cooking fumes and cigarette smoke.
 Networking multiple gas detectors to building management system.
Features :-
1.Wide detecting scope.
2.High sensitivity and fast response time.
3.Long life and stable.
4.Simple drive circuit.
*Due to its fast response time and high sensitivity, measurement can be
taken as soon as possible.
*The sensor sensitivity can be adjusted by using the potentiometer.
