CULTURAL DIMENSION

OF GLOBALIZATION
SOCIAL JUSTICE & HUMAN RIGHTS
AMIDST GLOBALIZATION

• The age of globalization has to challenge traditional societies whether to adopt or

resist the rapid global changes which come with it. There are people who are
excluded from globalization by the government simply because they are a
hindrance to rapid social mobility & involvement to economic advancement.
Others are simply dispersed or is being left out from the rapid changes that has
been going on amidst the society. In some real sense it is not actually the rulers
and political culture that should be blamed for these negative consequences but
the state as well.
GLOBAL HUMANITARIAN CRISIS

A humanitarian crisis or "humanitarian disaster" is defined as a singular event or a series of events that are
threatening in terms of health, safety or well-being of a community or large group of people. Humanitarian
crises can either be natural disasters, man-made disasters or complex emergencies.
BEHIND THE GLITTER: MICA AND CHILD MINING IN
INDIA/MADAGASCAR

Many people in Madagascar India known large

producer of Mica are hooked on mining just to
earn a living. Young girls doing hard labour jobs
even sacrificing their education just to make a
small amount of money out of this mineral.
Sadly, western notion for beauty promotes make
up as a medium for feature enhancement.
Millions of young girls around the world suffer injustices like lack of education, early
marriage & gender-based violence. Families prioritize educations for males rather than
females. Even those who are in school still struggles to stay or finish their education. Lack
of comfort room, toilets & wash room adds to the susceptibility of women against violence
& crime.
 The culture of indigenous peoples, such as
the Maori tribe in New Zealand, Indians in
North America, indigenous communities in
Mexico, Bedouins in Israel, are challenged
by the pervasive presence of globalization.
Problems of land grabbing and abuse of
natural resources are the main problems
given by the escalation of multinational
corporations extracting resources owned or
inhabited by these people. Foreign
dominations stabilize its position by luring
the IP's to despise their culture & imbibe or
assimilate the new one which in turn creates
chaos among the tribe people.
