1) What do you mean by large scale industries? Mention the regions in
which there is geographical concentration of factories of that specific
industry.
Large-scale industries are defined as those with significant infrastructure, raw material needs,
high labour demands, and significant capital requirements. Large scale industries are defined as
those businesses with fixed assets worth more than 10 crore rupees.

apparel brands of the likes of Tommy Hilfiger, US Polo, CK, GAP, Nautica and Sephora. Arvind Ltd. is also the best textile
branda in the country.
Raymond Ltd.
Raymond is one of the largest and famous textile brands in the country, headquartered in Mumbai, Raymond is known for its
Indian wear and is famous in all over the world. Raymond Ltd. is also a diversified group with more business interests in
Textile & Apparel sectors as well as presence across diverse segments such as FMCG, Engineering, and Prophylactics in
national and international markets as well. Raymond also provides its services and brands in Tier IV and V cities. The
Raymond group has an extensive presence in the B2B space through its garment business.
Lakshmi Mills
Lakshmi Mills Company was founded in the year 1910 and is headquartered in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Lakshmi Mills
offers a huge range of products including textile yarn, garments, weaving and spinning and the parent company is Lakshmi
Machine Works which is one of the top 10 textile companies in India.

6) What would be the impact of the campaign ‘vocal for local’ on the

“Vocal for Local”-a Swadeshi Movement for Next Generation Manufacturing
Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed a Rs 20 lakh crore economic programme to resuscitate India's
economy and get through the crisis brought on by the COVID-19 epidemic during his address to the nation
on May 13, 2020, using the motto "Vocal for Local." The appeal is to create more local brands and promote
them internationally in order to assist in multiplying the startup ecosystem and assisting the nation's goal of
becoming a $5 trillion economy by 2025.
