• The Thermosphere take it’s name from the Greek word “θзρμός” (pronounced as
Thermos) meaning heat.
• The Thermosphere begins about 80km (50 miles) above sea level.
• Thermosphere is at a very top layer.
• Thermosphere has no definite outer edge.
• The Thermosphere is very hot (1800˚) but since air is so thin, it would not feel
warm at all.
• Thermosphere is devided into parts, the Ionsphere and the Exosphere
