Hello, I work for the

Portsmouth City Council

We are currently planning on building an
Inland beach in Southsea. I was instructed
to collect and analyze people’s opinions
First, I created a questionnaire using
Microsoft Word. It had a total of 11
questions
I then analyzed some of the data collected
using Microsoft Access and Excel. I will
explain the analysis I did with Access first.
FIRST, I DESIGNED A TABLE STORING SOME OF THE
INFORMATION I HAD COLLECTED. A PICTURE OF THIS
TABLE IS DISPLAYED BELOW.
I THEN CREATED A QUERY THAT WOULD SHOW ME
HOW MANY LIFEGUARDS OCCASIONAL VISITORS OF
THE BEACH WOULD WANT
FINALLY, I CREATED A REPORT SHOWING HOW
FREQUENTLY PEOPLE COME TO THE BEACH AND
THEIR PREFERRED SPORT.
I moved on to Excel to analyze some of the
numerical data I had received from the
questionnaire.
I CALCULATED THE MEAN, MEDIAN, MODE, AND
STANDARD DEVIATION OF SPEEDBOATS WANTED
USING EXCEL FORMULAS. I ALSO CALCULATED THE
CORRELATION BETWEEN THE NUMBER OF
SPEEDBOATS AND THE PRICE PEOPLE WERE WILLING
TO PAY FOR THE BEACH. A PICTURE IS BELOW.
That was the end of my analysis in Excel.
After scrutinizing all the data I had received
with these apps, I have drawn some
conclusions which I will now discuss
CONCLUSION

• THE SOUTHSEA INLAND BEACH WILL BE A MASSIVE SUCCESS. IT SEEMS A

HUGE NUMBER OF PEOPLE GO TO THE BEACH REGULARLY AND ARE
WILLING TO PAY A DECENT FEE TO HAVE ACCESS TO ONE.
• THE CITY COUNCIL BOARD ONLY NEEDS TO SPREAD THE WORD AND THE
PEOPLE WILL VISIT THE BEACH IN THOUSANDS. IT MIGHT EVEN BECOME A
TOURIST ATTRACTION!
Thank you
