Theoretical Framework
To assess and advance the content of what is known in this field, I have developed a theoretical
framework of Business Intelligent for Digital SMEs. This framework is based on SMEs Key
Function conceptualizations in the extent literature with a constructs description details.

Research Approach

Study Design
The study use a systematic literature review
approach advocated by Denyer and Tranfield
(2009). Compared with conventional ‘narrative’
reviews, systematic structured process for
identifying, synthesizing, and evaluating extent
research(vom Brockeetal.,2015). The review
process by establishing the research objectives
and conceptual boundaries.

The aims to describe what is known on BI

digitalized in SMEs research and to identify
research opportunities to enhance existing
knowledge. As noted in the theoretical
framework section, this review followed the
definitions and conceptualizations provided by
Business Intelligent, Digital Innovation and
Transformation scholars.

Provides a summary of the process used to prepare this

review.

Data Collection
Research Instrument
A questionnaire was developed to gather the data from
the respondents. Likert’s scale was used in the
questionnaire to determined the SME Key function
factors influence by BI on the scale;

Factors highly influence by BI Efficiency VS Factors Lowly

Influence by BI Efficiency

1: Strong disagree
2: Disagree
3: Not sure
4: Agree
5: Strong agree

A survey was conducted in various city in PNG to gather

the primary data from the SME industry. The data
gathered from the authentic source and it was clearly
defined to them that this response will only be used in
research purpose.

Sample Size:
A size of 20 respondents was taken under consideration.

CONCLUSION

22
Conclusion
It is believed that this research project will lead a comprehensive understanding of
identification of factors for SME companies right after company’s readiness as well
as BI maturity on adopting a dynamic Information System. This analytical study
could assist existed organizations to focus their BI improvement as efforts on the
critical factors to advance overall BI infrastructure and activities. As like few other
country, Papua New Guinea tremendous participations in SMEs sector is also
outnumbered which played a vital role for the economic development in last few
decades. However, adoption on BI Technology are still yet to emerge in order to
survive with other Big industries for better understanding of customers as well as
accelerating the business process in PNG.
