How to use the verbs was and were
 Was and Were

Was and Were are both from the same verb.

A verb is an action word. For example; jump, swim, run…

changes to a new word for past
tense, present tense, and future tense.

Was and were are past tense of the infinitive verb Be.
Was is used if the noun you are changing is singular.

Were is used if the noun you are changing is plural.
