“Anil and Sunil got their report cards. Anil secured 30 marks out of 50 and Sunil secured 14 marks out of
25 in mathematics. Sunil claimed that he got better marks than Anil. But Anil argued that he had done
better than Sunil.

The symbol % is used to indicate that a number is a percent.

For example, 60% is the ratio 60 to 100, or

sign and move the decimal point two places to the left.
