• Pronunciation is important because it makes
your first impression.
• Many English learners ignore pronunciation.
• The consequences of bad pronunciation are
tragic. Even if you use correct grammar, people
may simply not understand what you want to
say.
• If you speak English with a strong foreign
accent, you are making things difficult for people
who listen to you.

In spoken language, people pronounce the
definite article "the" in two different ways.

To form the past simple and past participle of
regular verbs we add –ed.

– ed ending.

the voice rises and falls when speaking.
