Objective of the scheme:
- guarantee 100 days of employment per year to every
household whose adult members volunteer to do unskilled
manual work.

-The bench of Justice V. Bharatidasan and Justice N. Sathish
Kumar made the order in a petition highlighting the struggle of the
Forest Department of State of Tamil Nadu for the removal of invasive
species from the forest areas all over Tamil Nadu due to the lack of
funds and lack of human resources.
- Directed the Union Government and the Tamil Nadu State
Government to use the funds under the Mahatma Gandhi National
Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGA) for the removal of
invasive species by engaging the Tribal and local community people
who are living co-existence with the wild life and living in and around
the Forests, Sanctuaries, and National Parks.

Report of the Standing Committee
• The Standing Committee on Rural Development and Panchayati Raj
(Chair: Mr. Prataprao Jadhav) presented its report on ‘Critical
Evaluation of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment
Guarantee Act (MGNREGA)’ on February 8, 2022.

Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan into Swachh Bharat
Mission (2014)
• Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan was restructed into two sub-
Missions - Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) and Swachh
Bharat Mission (Urban). 
• Solid Liquid Waste Management (SLWM) and Community
Sanitary Complexes (CSCs) 
• Goal is to improve the levels of cleanliness in rural areas
and making Gram Panchayats Open Defecation Free
SARVA SHIKSHA ABHIYAN
• Universal Elementary Education
• The programme aims to provide useful and relevant,
elementary education to all children in the 6 to 14 age
group
• Improve quality of education
• 'Back-to-School' camp
• Focus on the educational participation of children from the
SC/ST, religious and linguistic minorities
• Provide uniforms and free textbooks to the school
children.
SWARNJAYANTI GRAM SWAROZGAR YOJANA
• Below Poverty Line families are formed as self-help groups
and funded through bank loans and government funds.
• The main function of these groups is to help all such families
cross the poverty line.
• Self-Help Groups are formed after a process of selection. 
• The groups are then assimilated into blocks focusing on the
group's primary output capabilities, and allowed to work with
funding from banks, individual philanthropists, Panchayati Raj
organizations, and the like. 
• Regular festivals and melas are organised by the
government, in an effort to help the Self-Help Groups sell
their output / goods to a larger audience and create a market
in the process.
