Formative Assessment

Summative Assessment
Formative Assessment
Assessment given at any time during the teaching and learning
process. It is also a way of checking the effectiveness of instruction.

It involves teachers using the evidence what learners know and
can do to inform and improve their teaching.
Must also provide students with immediate feedback on how well
they are learning throughout the teaching and learning process.
Summative Assessment
Assessment which occur at the end of particular unit or occurs
toward the end of a period of learning in order to describe the
standard reached by the learners.

Assessment whether the learners have met the content and

performance standards. Teachers must use methods to measure
students learning that have been deliberately designed to assess how
well students learned and are able to apply their learning in different
contexts.
Summative Assessment
Assessment which are recorded and use to report on students
achievement and usually reported to the learners and
parents/guardians.
