Coal is one of the commodities needed for energy raw materials. Currently the government is increasing
the use of coal as an alternative energy, both for domestic needs such as in the industrial sector, power plant
and for export. Coal deposits are very abundant in Indonesia, especially one of which is in Kalimantan. The
coal-bearing formation in the Kapuas area, Central Kapuas District, Central Kalimantan Province is located on
the northern edge of the Barito Basin. The Montalat Formation is deposited interfingering with the Berai
Formation and is deposited conformably beneath the Warukin Formation.
A desk study and a JORC report on coal resources and reserves were carried out to provide information
on several parameters considered regarding the potential presence and distribution of coal as well as
reporting on the results of estimated coal resources and reserves of PT Persada Kapuas Prima.
