WHAT IS MENTAL FITNESS ?

Mental fitness can be defined as having and maintaining a state of well being and cultivating
awareness of how we think , behave and feel.

Just as physical fitness provides us with an increased ability to respond to life in all its
richness , mental fitness helps in the same way.

 EMOTIONAL

 SOCIAL

 FINANCIAL

 PHYSICAL
1.EMOTIONAL

This includes self –acceptance ,self-esteem , resilience, and the ability to manage strong
emotions.
2. Social

 Friends are important because they bring companionship,support and enrichment .As
humans are social animals ,its necessary to socialise to maintain our mental state.
3. Financial

Certain situations might trigger feelings of anxiety and panic ,like opening envelopes or
attending a benefits assessment . woring about money can lead to sleep problems .you might
not be able to afford the things you need to stay well.
4.Physical

 Physical health problems significantly increase our risk of developing mental health
problems ,and vice –versa.Nearly one in three people with along –term physical ,most
often depression and anxiety.
Mental health is not a
destination ,but a process.
It’s about how you drive, not
where you’re going.
