Comparative Adjectives

We use comparative adjectives to show how


people or things are different in some way.
1. One-syllable adjectives: add -er 2.- Adjectives ending in –e: add -er

Eg: cheap-cheaper
Eg: large-larger
clean-cleaner
safe- safer
light -lighter
late-later
slow –slower
nice-nicer

3.- Eg: hot


The weather is hotter from May to August than the rest of the year.

4.-Eg: Learning French is easier than learning German.

5.-Eg: Climbing is more tiring than cycling.

6.-Eg: Headphones sound better than the earphones.
