Decimal Rounding Exercises

This document provides examples of estimating differences between decimal numbers by rounding to the highest place value. It demonstrates how to round decimal numbers, estimate differences, and solve word problems involving estimating differences between monetary amounts. Key steps include rounding decimals to the nearest tenths place, dropping digits after the rounded digit, subtracting like whole numbers, and putting the decimal point directly below the decimal points in the numbers being subtracted. Examples are provided to estimate differences between measurements like weights and lengths as well as monetary amounts in word problems.
