AN INTRODUCTION TO RIPPLE (XRP)

 It was founded by Ryan Fugger in 2004, a software developer in Vancouver, Canada

with an original brand name “Ripplepay”.

 Ripplepay didn't use any blockchain technologies that time, but it had the same purpose
– providing its users with tools to be able to securely transact money around the world.

 In 2012, Fugger sold it to Jed McCaleb, Arthur Britto, and David Schwartz,
who wanted to use it for their future digital currency network
with a new company name “OpenCoin”.

How Ripple works?

The mission of ripple’s blockchain infrastructure is to provide banks with quick, low-cost and
simple cross-border transactions. A viable alternative to the current international payments
system used by most banks which is the SWIFT (Society for Worldwide Interbank Fin. Telecom).
Enable the world to move money like information moves today.
How XRP Ledger works?

XRP Ledger is a decentralized public blockchain built with the purpose to enable a world
were tokenized value is exchanged as quickly as information.
It can support more than 1,500 transactions per second & transaction speed of 3-5 seconds.
The average transaction cost of the XRPL is less than a fraction of a cent ($0.00001).
Unlike most other blockchains, the XRP Ledger does not need mining, so no energy is wasted
in the transaction process. It is the first major blockchain to be certifiably carbon neutral.

XRP Ledger don’t use proof of work, instead it uses a consensus protocol in which
designated servers called validators come to an agreement on the order and outcome
of XRP transactions every 3-5 seconds. Anyone can operate a validator; currently,
over 150 validators are active on the ledger

The consensus protocol ensures the blockchain becomes more decentralized over time
as the validator pool grows.
How XRP works?

XRP is a digital asset native to the XRP Ledger. Anyone with a digital wallet and an
internet connection can receive, hold, and send XRP tokens. Users can use
XRP to send global payments, transact on the XRPL decentralized exchange (DEX),
and purchase NFTs.

Any user can set up an XRP wallet from various wallet providers to begin transacting.
You can send and receive XRP to or from anywhere in the world in just a few seconds.
Senders of XRP pay a negligible transaction fee of under a penny,
making it an affordable solution for users.

XRP currently has 45 billion tokens in circulation, while its total supply counts to 100 billion.
Ripple Labs initially owned 55 billion XRP tokens, with the ability to sell 1 billion per month.
