HAND HYGIENE
PROBLEM STATEMENT

 It is being observed that consultants/JR’s/Nursing

staff/housekeeping /BSA etc. , many a times don’t

practice hand hygiene leading to transmission of infection

which ultimately affects patient care.


AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

 Increase in compliance to hand hygiene rate to

reduce the chances of transmission of healthcare

associated infections(HAI’s).
HOW TO COMPLY WITH HAND HYGIENE
MOMEMNTS

 As a Quality improvement programme ,

announcement is made via PA system every 2

hourly as “PLEASE DO HAND HYGIENE” and also

via trainings.
WHEN TO DO HAND HYGIENE(5 MOMENTS
OF HAND HYGIENE)
 Before touching a patient,
 Before clean/aseptic
procedures,
 After body fluid
exposure/risk,
 After touching a patient, and.
 After touching patient
surroundings.
