The course aims to provide
students the opportunity to
observe, participate in, or
otherwise experience works of
art in order to appreciate their
role and purpose in life.

Students will be exposed to
various works of art, ranging
from the classical art forms to
modern art installations,
performance art, indie films,
enhanced e-books and
multimedia aesthetics.

These works of art will be
examined from an aesthetic
point of view and also as
reflections or critiquesof the
societies that produced them.

appreciation and expression of

 The course Art Appreciation (under the
new GE Curriculum) is aimed at further
strengthening the youth’s awareness and
deep appreciation for the arts. The course
shall serve as a continuation of the
Subject Contemporary Arts which was
already taken in Senior High School.

Apart from focusing on
Philippine Arts, this course shall
further try to situate the local
arts in the global perspective and
compare its status to standards of
arts in the gobal arena.

60% Major Examinations (Midterms and
Finals)
