INTRODUCTION :
-E-Procurement System is a technology-driven way to simplify procurement and bid activities.
-E-Procurement is a cost-effective, scalable way to convert traditional way of publishing
procurements and avoid the back hand that plays role in the corruption that takes places in

- DDU posts an actual bids with their respective bid documents to the publics in which verified
suppliers can participate.
-It can simplify overall procurement process.
-The system can asses and deliver a better and more targeted results with the minimized
corruptions which will lead to fair auctions among suppliers.
3
Background of the study
-E-Procurement will enable companies to shorten procurement cycles by ordering and paying
through use of online catalogues.
-Cut costs on both stock and manufactured parts through competitive bidding
-Reduce development cycles and accelerate time-to-market through collaborative
engineering and product implementation.
- Gain access to world-wide markets
- Marketing information and prices are always up to date.
-Increased global competition and pricing pressures are forcing
-companies to continually identify new opportunities for enhancing productivity and reducing
costs
4
Statement of the problem

bureaucratic procurement procedures
poor quality goods and services, and

6
Objectives of the project…
Specific Objectives
-In order to achieve the general objective of the project, the specific objective is
designed to do the following activity:
To investigate and identify the problems in the existing procurement system in DDU
To choose the most appropriate method of data collection.
To analyze the problem and find a way for the solution
To design and implement a database for the proposed system
To develop the system that enables the organization to post auctions to public
To develop the system that stores bid prices submitted from bidders in the database
and displays the winner 7
Specific Objectives…
To test and evaluate the performance of the proposed system by inserting different
data.
To identify different methods for e-procurement systems.
To provide security and reliability for the system
8
Scope and Limitation of the Project
Scope:
The e-procurement system is designed for DDU.
The system handles all the operations held in procurement process
inside the organization
It can solve many problems that occur in the university on the
procurement process.
It can enable the head of procurement department to prepare and post
auctions to the public
It allows suppliers to create a supplier account and upload their legal
documents and get verified in order to get in the auction
9
Scope and Limitation of the Project…
Limitation:
Needs internet access
The system will not verify documents submitted by itself
Needs physical attendance to check for products to be delivered by the suppliers
The user interface is only in English; no other language option is available.
1
Significance of The Project
Reduce manual process and administrative costs to maintain the existing system.
Reduce cost and redundancy of information or data.
Improving efficiency, control, and security of the current system.
Fasten and facilitate the strategy of processing procurement.
To save time and resources needed.
To enable bidders participate from remote areas.
To minimize bid rigging.
Reduction of supply costs.
Reduction of cost per tender.
1
Significance…
Reduced paperwork and less bureaucracy,
Standardization of processes and documentation.
Online reporting, clearer and more transparent processes.
Minimization of errors and easier access to information

Feasibility Study
Economic Feasibility
The development of this application is economically feasible.
The organization was required not to spend much money to
develop the system
1
Feasibility Study…
Technical Feasibility
-The proposed system is technically feasible since:-
there will not be much difficulty in getting the required resources
for the development and maintaining the system as well
All the resources needed for the development of the software as
well as the maintenance of the same are available in the
organization
1
Feasibility Study…
Operational Feasibility
-Our proposed system will be fully operational, when:-
There is a consistent support from the development team
Users are trained to adopt with the system
There is advisor’s support
